INTERNATIONAL  JUNIOR  SHORT TRACK
LADIES  &  MEN - open to SENIOR

BORMIO / ITALY   November  7th - 9th, 2003

ANNOUNCEMENT
The Organizing Committee on behalf of the Italian Ice Sport Federation has the honour to invite you to participate at the “12th ALTA VALTELLINA TROPHY” (open to Senior) to be held November 7th - 9th , 2003 at the Ice Stadium Bormio / Italy. The competition is open for all Nations and Clubs being members I.S.U. There are no restrictions in the amount of entries unless we inform you contrary.

TRACK
The track is an artificial refrigerated indoor ice surface with the measures 60x30 meters, protective padding will cover the boards in accordance with Rule 280, paragraph 5, ISU Communication 1090. The standard track 111,12 meters to the lap with measured curves of 8,50 meters and there will be 7 markers used to establish the curve. The length of the straight is 28,85m. Besides the original track there will be 4 tracks set up to preserve good ice conditions. For all tracks one finish line will be used.

GENERAL REGULATIONS
The competition will be held under the rules of I.S.U. concerning the paragraphs for Short Track Speed Skating. The organizers reserve the right to change the programme due to unforeseen circumstances.

Junior  A Ladies and Men from 01-07-1984 to 30-06-1986
Junior  B Ladies and Men from 01-07-1984 to 30-06-1988
Junior  C Ladies and Men from 01-07-1988 to 30-06-1990
Junior  D Ladies and Men from 01-07-1990 to 30-06-1992

DISTANCES
Junior  A - B   1500m - 500m - 1000m - 1500m final
Junior  C   1000m - 500m -  1500m final
Junior  D   1000m - 500m -  1000m final
Senior    1500m - 500m - 1000m - 3000m final
Relay races   Junior D  2000m.     (three skaters)
Junior  A-B-C  2000m.     (three skaters)
    Senior ladies  3000m. -     Senior men  5000m.

    • 7.30 a.m. Warm up
    • 9.00 a.m. 500m; Relay semi-finals
  • Sunday, November 9th
    • 7.00 a.m. Warm up
    • 8.30 a.m. 1000m - 1000m final (Junior D) - 1500m final - 3000m final - Relay finals
This program is subject to change by the organizers.

AWARD of PRIZES
Prize for the first - second and third classed in the final results for each category - ladies and men.
Prize for the first - second and third classed in the relay - ladies and men.

MEDICAL ASSISTANCE
Doctor and paramedical personnel will be present at the competition days (also during the warm up). An ambulance will be on standby in case of need.

CITIZENSHIP/RESIDENCE REQUIREMENTS AND CLEARANCE PROCEDURE
In accordance with Rule 109 of ISU Communication n° 1117, all skaters who do not have the nationality of the Member by which they have been entered or who, although having such nationality, have in the past represented another Member, must produce an ISU Clearance Certificate.

ANTI  DOPING
Anti Doping test will be carried out in accordance with the valid ISU Anti Doping Code  (ISU Communication n° 1121 or any further update of this Communication).

ACCOMODATION 
The participating teams are responsible for its own costs of meals and accommodation. Accommodation must be requested only through the O.C. not later than October, 27th , 2003.
The Organizing Committee will provide accommodation on full board  at the price of € 50,00 per day per person (beverage included), in a double room, or € 60,00 in a single room ***
Transportation from Milan (Linate or Malpensa) airports to Bormio and back can be pre-arranged. The cost of the round-trip is €. 420,00 for a max. 8 passengers for each minibus.

ENTRIES
Preliminary entries, with provisional names, must be submitted by October 6th, 2003 at the latest and should contain all the information requested in the “PRELIMINARY ENTRY FORM” here enclosed.
Final entries must be submitted by October 27th, 2003 at the latest and must contain all the information requested in the “FINAL ENTRY FORM” and in the “ACCOMMODATION REQUEST FORM” here enclosed.
(Both forms must be written in block-letters).
ENTRY FEE €. 10,00 per athlete (F.I.S.G. Rule)

TRAINING
On request the Organizer provides ice training for three or more days before the competition at the cost of 
€  90,00, taxes included, for 50 minutes.

LIABILITY
In accordance with ISU Rule 119, the Organizing Committee assume no  responsibility for any loss or damage on person or equipment  before, during or after the competition. Each Member/Club  is responsible for providing insurance coverage.
